Songs

The Songs tab (Ctrl + 1) holds your church's song library. Songs you add here can be searched, organised into collections, added to the schedule and sent to the screen.

To add, edit or format songs, see Managing Songs. To bring songs across from EasyWorship, see Importing from EasyWorship.

Finding a song

Type in the search box at the top of the sidebar. The button at the left of the box picks what to search:

Mode Searches
All (default) Titles, authors and lyrics together, with title matches ranked first
Title Song titles only
Lyrics Lyrics only
Author Author names only

Search tips:

  • Part of a word is enough. grac finds Amazing Grace.
  • Put a phrase in quotes to match it exactly: "how great thou art".
  • Put - in front of a word to leave out songs that contain it.
  • Apostrophes don't matter. its finds It's.
  • Typos are forgiven. In All mode, if nothing matches exactly, Crater looks for titles and authors spelt similarly and says songs similar to… above the results.
  • Search needs three letters. In All and Lyrics modes, words shorter than three letters are skipped.

While you search, each result shows the line of lyrics that matched, with your words highlighted. You can turn both off in Settings > Search.

When the search box is empty, a Recent button lists your last few searches in this session.

Sorting

Open the gear menu above the song list and choose Sort by Name, Sort by Most Recent (last edited), Sort by Newest or Sort by Oldest.

The sidebar groups your songs:

  • My Favorites shows songs you've marked with a heart. Right-click a song and choose Add to Favorites.
  • My Collections expands to show your collections, such as Christmas, Communion or Youth Sunday. Click a collection to show only its songs.

A song can be in as many collections as you like. See Managing Songs to create and manage them.
