Global Search

Press Ctrl + K anywhere in the console to open global search. It looks through your Bible, songs, Strong's dictionary, media and themes at once, so you don't need to switch tabs to find something.

Searching

  1. Press Ctrl + K.
  2. Start typing. Results appear once you've typed two characters, grouped as Scripture, Songs, Strong's, Media and Themes, with up to six in each group.
  3. Use Up and Down to move through the results. The panel on the right shows the verse text, the song's lyrics, a picture's thumbnail or a theme's colours.

What each group finds:

  • Scripture: type a reference like john 3:16 for that verse first, followed by verses containing your words. It searches the translation currently selected on the Scripture tab.
  • Songs: titles, authors and lyrics, like the All mode on the Songs tab.
  • Strong's: numbers like H430 and words in definitions. Hidden if you've turned off the Strong's tab.
  • Media and Themes: by name.

Presentations and schedule items aren't included in global search. Find them on their own tab.

Global search remembers your last search for the rest of the session and shows it again the next time you open it.

Acting on a result

Key Action
Enter The main action for that kind of result (see below)
Ctrl + Enter Go Live
Shift + Enter Add to Schedule. Search stays open so you can add several items.
Esc Close

Each result also has buttons for Preview, Go Live, Add to Schedule and Reveal.

  • Preview loads the item into the Preview panel without the room seeing it.
  • Go Live sends it live. If the projection window is closed, click Go Live in the top bar to open it.
  • Add to Schedule adds it to the end of your schedule.
  • Reveal jumps to the item in its own tab.

Picking a song section

When the highlighted result is a song, the right-hand panel lists its sections, with the one that matched your search already selected. Press Tab and Shift + Tab to pick a different section, or click it. Preview then loads the song with that section selected, ready to send live. This is the quickest way to jump to "the bridge of that song".

Choosing what Enter does

Go to Settings > Search > Default action by type to choose what Enter does for each kind of result:

Kind Default
Scripture Stage to Preview
Songs Stage to Preview
Strong's Reveal in tab
Media Stage to Preview
Themes Reveal in tab (always)

Each can be set to Stage to Preview, Reveal in tab or Go Live. If you trust your typing, Go Live makes Enter put the result straight on screen.

Searching inside a tab

Each library tab also has its own search box with options that suit it: reference and full-text modes on Scripture, title, author and lyrics modes on Songs, and name search on Media, Presentations and Themes. Those boxes keep a Recent list of your last searches for the session.
